Hearts for My Mum

6 May

My mum is going through a rough patch so I’ve decided to knit her something. I’m using some leftover yarn, so I have to make the socks short, otherwise I won’t have enough for two. I included hearts in the design, so she knows how much I care for her…

Here is the first sock I just finished. Knit toe-up.

Manly Socks

5 May

I had to go on a trip to France last week and decided to take an easy, mindless project with me for the train ride. So, I made this pair of men’s socks in bamboo sock yarn. They are simple, but I think they are pretty nice men’s socks.

I made them two-at-once on one circular needle, toe-up.

A Photo Shoot for Spring Has Sprung Hat

Today, I finally had a decent photo shoot for this pattern. Thanks to two lovely children, Marta and Kelvin, who played along and let me take lots of pictures of them wearing the hats.

Here are our best shots, aren’t they cute?!

Pattern can be found here and costs EUR 2.50

My First Longies

15 Mar

So, after all these years of knitting, I still had to knit longies. These are not finished yet, but pretty advanced now. They will be for a friend’s baby boy to be born in the summer. I’m making them in a 100% bamboo yarn, that should be appropriate for the summer weather.

Spring Has Sprung Pattern is Available

15 Feb

I wrote this pattern especially with bamboo yarn in mind. I wanted to design a spring hat with a girl and a boy version and bamboo yarn makes me think of spring. It has a lovely shine to it that reminds me of sunny spring days.

The body of the hat is identical in both versions. The girl version includes a little bracelet, just for fun!

Note: this pattern is for both boy and girl versions

Pattern costs $3.75

Boys Spring Beanie is Finished

25 Jan

Modeled by my 6-year old. The hat is meant for a size 2-5 years approximately, so it’s a little small on him. But, it gives you a good idea of what it looks like.

I will now write the pattern for both this version and the girls version and will get it test knitted. The pattern should be available in about 3 weeks time. Stay tuned!

Almost Finished

Only one element left to knit on my boys’ version of the upcoming bamboo spring beanie pattern. Here is a preview:

Note that it is a little bit small on my boys, there will be a bigger version for older boys.
