Leo & Lea Sock Yarn Baby Booties

12 Aug

These booties are the perfect way to use teeny amounts of leftover sock yarn. The pattern offers two versions; unisex – Leo – and girl – Lea. The look is rather traditional but the knitting is totally seamless and in the round, there is no picking up of stitches. They will make a perfect baby shower gift and can even be knit at the last minute, an evening should be enough…

I’m working on a pair of matching mittens (in the two versions), stay tuned for these!

I’m working on a booties & mittens set for newborns, made out of my favourite yarn, sock yarn. I have finished the girl version and am now working on a unisex version. They will be perfect for baby shower gifts and can easily be made as a last minute gift as they are really quick to knit and use very little yarn. Here is a preview of the girl version, stay tuned for the unisex version 😀

Fingerless Mitts Have Become Mittens

11 Oct

I was planning to do fingerless mitts to match my Ederra shawlette but changed my mind as I was knitting them and went for mittens instead. It just seemed like a better solution. I’m almost done knitting the first mitten, I only have the thumb left to do. I’m still unsure how exactly the thumb will be. A lot of my designing ends up being improvised as I go…

Newborn Set Ready

21 Jan

I just finished a newborn set I was knitting for a friend. Her baby is due any time now, so I’d better hurry to send it off. She wanted white, so white she got. We don’t know which gender the baby is yet. I just hope it gets to her on time.

The mittens are a personal pattern. It is very simple. If there is interest, I will write the pattern and offer it for free. I just have a few other patterns to finish up first.

I love it! It’s such an interesting pattern. Judge by yourselves 🙂

They are made in brioche stitch. It takes more work, but the result is well worth it!
