A Beautiful Project

6 May

I have just finished a test for a fellow crochet designer, it is for a barefoot sandal pattern, crocheted with cotton thread. This was a first for me and I was a little bit anxious but it turned out to be easier than I thought.

Anyway, enough words, here’s my first “sandal” finished, Payal: A Mehndi Inspired Barefoot Sandal by Shrone Designs

Tabi Toe-Up Socks

13 Apr

I’ve just knit these socks as a test for a fellow designer and friend Shirley (Jardinrouge on Ravelry, her designer page is here). I love this pattern! It’s very easy to knit and customizable. I have made the leg part shorter than what the pattern calls for as I wanted a really low pair. I will be knitting more of these with different types of yarn. They are also a super quick knit.

Textured Socks Up for Testing

A quick edit, these are now published, details here.

I just finished writing the pattern for these socks, I still haven’t found an appropriate name so, for now, they will go by “Textured Socks”.

They do not require any fair-isle, the colour-work is achieved by slipped stitches.

If you are interested in testing this pattern, check here.

Mother’s Love Knot

A test knit I made, love it!

Hook Book

2 Feb

Today I finished a test I’m doing for the designer. Not knitting, but crochet. I’m trying to get into crochet so I grab all opportunities to get better.

The pattern is for a hook book, to keep crochet hooks. I thought it would work well for my interchangeable circular needles, so I gave it a go!

It still needs blocking, but it’s finished – and full!

The front has the stripes, the back is all blue. And you can see how full it is in the picture where it’s open…

Here is a preview of a work in progress from one of the testers
