Hearts for My Mum

6 May

My mum is going through a rough patch so I’ve decided to knit her something. I’m using some leftover yarn, so I have to make the socks short, otherwise I won’t have enough for two. I included hearts in the design, so she knows how much I care for her…

Here is the first sock I just finished. Knit toe-up.

Manly Socks

5 May

I had to go on a trip to France last week and decided to take an easy, mindless project with me for the train ride. So, I made this pair of men’s socks in bamboo sock yarn. They are simple, but I think they are pretty nice men’s socks.

I made them two-at-once on one circular needle, toe-up.

And we Have a Hat

4 Feb

The baby set’s hat is just finished, I can now get working on the vest. I decided that the vest would be in a plain colour matching the booties and hat as I think it would be a bit too much to have three pieces in this same yarn.

Here are a few pics, I don’t have a baby at hand for modeling, so this baby does a lot of the modeling around here!

Working on the Hat of my New Baby Set

1 Feb

I have started the hat that will go with the baby booties I posted about a couple of days ago. It is made in the same sock yarn. I really love working with this yarn, it has bamboo in it and is so soft and pleasant to work with.

The completed set will also have a little vest. Stay tuned…

First Item from New Baby Set

30 Jan

Yesterday I showed you a preview of these. These booties will be part of a baby set, which will be made of a pair of booties, a vest and a hat. Sizes are likely to cover newborn up to 18 months.

The set is designed to be made in sock yarn, especially self-striping. I always think that there are so many gorgeous sock yarns which are worth showing off, socks are too often hidden!

New Baby Pattern

29 Jan

Just a quick preview of a baby pattern I’m working on at the moment. Can you guess what it is?

What I can share is the choice of yarn; I’m using a beautiful bamboo blend sock yarn from Schoeller + Stahl.
