Simple Toe-up Knee High Socks for Me

I have been waiting for a little while now for some yarn to arrive so I can get started knitting a secret project so I didn’t want to start anything big or difficult. So, always having a huge stash of sock yarn available, I decided to knit myself a pair of knee-high socks for the cold days. I’m using some Regia Harmony Color. The socks are toe-up with gusset and heel flap and I’m knitting them two at once.

I have just finished the heel on both of them and this is what they look like right now. It’s nice to be able to knit something for myself for a change

Also, you might notice on the picture, I’m using square needles. That’s right, square! This is the first time that I’m using my new Kollage square needle. I have carpal tunnel in one hand still (the first hand was operated about 6 months ago) and I wanted to try those as square needles are supposed to be gentler on the hands. So far, it seems like I’m getting less symptoms when I knit with them so, yay!

Hiss are toe-up socks with a heel flap and gusset. I designed them for my 7-year old boy who is fascinated by snakes. A simple cable goes up the socks, undulating like a snake. They are ideal to use up small leftovers of yarn, as colour A requires little yarn.

Another Pair of Skew

I was visiting my mum in France and decided to knit her a pair of Skew. She saw my pair when I visited a few weeks before and loved them! I had some leftover Felici sock yarn from my Agate Capelet, but not enough of one colour. So, I decided to use both colours and alternate between colours every other row. I love the effect I got this way!

Hearts for My Mum

My mum is going through a rough patch so I’ve decided to knit her something. I’m using some leftover yarn, so I have to make the socks short, otherwise I won’t have enough for two. I included hearts in the design, so she knows how much I care for her…

Manly Socks

I had to go on a trip to France last week and decided to take an easy, mindless project with me for the train ride. So, I made this pair of men’s socks in bamboo sock yarn. They are simple, but I think they are pretty nice men’s socks.

I made them two-at-once on one circular needle, toe-up.

Tabi Toe-Up Socks

I’ve just knit these socks as a test for a fellow designer and friend Shirley (Jardinrouge on Ravelry, her designer page is here). I love this pattern! It’s very easy to knit and customizable. I have made the leg part shorter than what the pattern calls for as I wanted a really low pair. I will be knitting more of these with different types of yarn. They are also a super quick knit.
