A Pair of Socks for My Boy

1 Oct

I just finished a pair of socks for my 7-year old. This was long overdue since the first sock was ready back in June, yes, June! Anyway, the sweet boy was patient and was very pleased today to finally have a complete pair.

I knit a pair of Hiss, using some leftover Wollmeise for the toe, a Regia cotton blend for the heel and a standard Regia sock yarn for the ribbing. The foot and leg is made in yummy Knit Picks Stroll Multi, I love this colour!

But, enough talk, here are a few pictures.

Introducing Sunkissed

11 Jul

I just finished knitting my shawl, which is now named Sunkissed, somehow it just seems like the appropriate name. It’s just off the needles, so is still unblocked and is modeled by my – very happy looking – 5-year old! ;) So, obviously, it’s too big for him!

Here are a few pictures, it will now be tested and should be published in about 10 days.

Heiner Shawl Progress

7 Jul

I’m progressing on my shawl and I like it so far. I’m still unsure what the edge will look like, one certainty only is that it will be in yellow!

New Shawl Project

5 Jul

While my cable shawlette is being tested, I started working on a new shawl design. I’m designing it as I’m knitting and it already looks different from the idea I started with. It’s a two-colour shawl, knit in garter stitch with lace-y areas. The shawl is knit from the top down and gets more lace-y towards the bottom.

Here’s a little preview

Knit Picks Socks Finished and Renamed

3 Jun

I have just finished the socks for my Knit Picks submission. Now that they are knit in this bright yarn, they really remind me of candies rather than a tortoise shell, so I decided to rename them Candy Toes instead of Tortoise Toes.

Thanks to my friend Julia who modeled them, I have some very nice pictures…

Pattern is available here.

Knit Picks Independent Designer Program

19 Apr

I was super happy to find out that my Agate Capelet was pre-approved for the Knit Picks Independent Designer Program. This means that I now need to re-knit it in Knit Picks yarn to finalise the submission. I chose their sock yarn Felici for this pattern as I think it will work very well.

I have just started and it looks great so far, love it!
