Sock Yarn Newborn Booties & Mittens – Girl Version

8 Aug

I’m working on a booties & mittens set for newborns, made out of my favourite yarn, sock yarn. I have finished the girl version and am now working on a unisex version. They will be perfect for baby shower gifts and can easily be made as a last minute gift as they are really quick to knit and use very little yarn. Here is a preview of the girl version, stay tuned for the unisex version :D

Sneak Peek at New Design

4 Apr

I’m working on a new design, here’s a little sneak peek, I love that brown yarn, it’s very yummy!

Knee-High Cable Socks

3 Jan

I’m working on the second variation for my knee-high sock pattern, a cabled version. I’m using a beautiful colourway of Wollmeise called Pistazie. The colour in these pictures is not true to life, it’s much nicer in real!

Here’s a little preview:

Knee-High Socks

29 Dec

I finished my first pair ever of knee-high socks!

These will be part of a new pattern, with a simple toe-up knee-high sock pattern with heel flap and gusset. I will add three variations to the pattern, including this stripy version, a cable version I’m working on and a still undecided third variation.

Here are a few pictures of the finished pair.

One Sock

24 Dec

I’m working on a new pattern, which will be for knee-high socks with a basic “recipe” for 3 women sizes and different options. This is the stripy option. I have finished one sock and am now working on the second one. The second option will include cables and the third one might have colourwork, not too sure yet. They are knit toe-up and include a gusset and heel flap.

I’m making these in 2 different colourways of Zauberball Crazy. I love the Zauberball! :)

First Ederra Mitten is Finished

12 Oct

I decided to make them really close fitting mittens as I really like how it looks and feels on the hand. Here are some pictures of the completed mitten

Fingerless Mitts Have Become Mittens

11 Oct

I was planning to do fingerless mitts to match my Ederra shawlette but changed my mind as I was knitting them and went for mittens instead. It just seemed like a better solution. I’m almost done knitting the first mitten, I only have the thumb left to do. I’m still unsure how exactly the thumb will be. A lot of my designing ends up being improvised as I go…

Ederra Shawlette

10 Oct

I finished knitting a shawlette with my beautiful Wollmeise brown yarn and am now working on a pair of fingerless mittens to match it. When these are finished too, the patterns will be test knitted and then published. I really like how the shawlette has turned out! Its name is Ederra, that is Basque for beautiful.

Autumn Knitting

5 Oct

Autumn is here and, with it, a new knitting enthusiasm from me! Summer is just a bit too hot to be excited to knit.

Yesterday, I started knitting on a new design with a beautiful Wollmeise yarn in an autumn shade (Spice Market colourway), very appropriate for the season. I’m very excited about how this is turning out, I love the colour!

Here are a couple of preview pictures…

Summer Hat Finished, Blocking and Being Tested

19 Jul

I just finished my summer hat, wrote the pattern and started recruiting testers. It is now blocking and I can’t wait to publish it! It should be up in about 4 days…

Here it is, blocking

Working on a Summer Hat Pattern

19 Jul

This one will be for me, we are off on holidays by the sea on Saturday and I need a hat to protect my head from the sun on the beach.

It is made with 100% cotton yarn, I’m using Schoeller+Stahl Record 210, I love this blue-green mix!

It is still in progress, I’m about to get started on the crown decreases.

Here’s a little preview…

Heiner Shawl Progress

7 Jul

I’m progressing on my shawl and I like it so far. I’m still unsure what the edge will look like, one certainty only is that it will be in yellow!

New Shawl Project

5 Jul

While my cable shawlette is being tested, I started working on a new shawl design. I’m designing it as I’m knitting and it already looks different from the idea I started with. It’s a two-colour shawl, knit in garter stitch with lace-y areas. The shawl is knit from the top down and gets more lace-y towards the bottom.

Here’s a little preview

New Pattern in the Pipeline

26 Jun

A little preview of the pattern I’m working on, it will be a boy-ish pattern for sure, my son Logan is the inspiration for this!

A Very Bright Shawlette

26 Jun

I just blocked my Tausendschön shawlette. The least you can say about it is that is is bright! No worries though, I love bright and colourful.

I will write the pattern with some modifications and re-knit it in a plain colour to show off the pattern better. The pattern is thought especially for one skein of sock yarn.

Here are a few pictures

Working on a Shawl Pattern in Tausendschön

18 Jun

And here is a little preview, the body is in garter stitch and it has a cable border.
I’m using a Tausendschön hand-dyed sock yarn, the colourway is called Paul Krämer.

One Wollmeise Sock Finished

9 May

Here it is, once more, if you read this, can you tell me what pattern you see on top of the foot?

Working on a New Pattern in Wollmeise

9 May

A pair of toe-up socks with gusset. The pattern is pretty clear to me, but I’ve asked people around me and they can’t figure it out. If you read this, I’d love your feedback, what do you think the pattern on the top of the foot is?

A 2-in-1 Easy Swaddling Blanket

28 Feb

This pattern is inspired by a special swaddling blanket I used when my sons were babies. I was always bad at using standard blankets for swaddling, so they really helped!

It can be used as a swaddling blanket and, later when the baby doesn’t get swaddled anymore as an independent sleeping bag

I’m about to write the pattern and have it tested.

2-in-1 Easy Swaddling Blanket

26 Feb

More progress, I’m happy about how this is turning out. I still have quite a bit of knitting to do, but here you can start to see what it’ll look like.
